Geological beginning
Foundation
Millions of years ago, volcanic ash from the eruption that shaped New Zealand’s Christchurch Peninsula settled across the region. A portion drifted inland toward the Malvern Hills, where glacial forces buried and preserved it beneath freshwater ice and mineral-rich earth
What kept it pure
Preservation
Isolated from surface disruption, the clay remained untouched by industrial activity, agriculture, and modern contamination. Time, pressure, and natural filtration refined the material slowly, leaving its mineral structure remarkably intact.
The decision to interfere less
Formulation
Glacía was built around a simple idea: preserve the clay’s integrity rather than transform it beyond recognition. The formulation process focused on restraint, allowing the raw material to remain the centre of the experience rather than burying it beneath unnecessary complexity.
Bringing Glacía to skin
Ritual
The journey concludes where it was always intended to.
After millions of years of formation, preservation, and stillness, the clay comes into contact with the skin.
Water awakens the material. The texture transforms. Ancient minerals suspended in earth become a ritual of touch. A deliberate moment of pause. A chance to reconnect with something elemental — and with yourself. For a brief time, the demands of the day fall away. What remains is skin that feels refreshed, balanced, and restored to its natural state. The ritual ends. The feeling stays.
